Skin Care

I wish I would have listened and taken better care of my skin when I was younger because honestly I TRASHED it, and now I am paying for it.  This is what I literally (no joke) started on January 1st.  Yes, this was a resolution.  Again, I was not compensated for this post. But, I’ll take free products if they are offering.

Morning

  1. Wash Face (Boots No.7 Cleanser – Dry/Very Dry)
  2. Toner (Boots No. 7 Toner – Dry/Very Dry)
  3. Moisturizer with SPF 15 (Boots No.7 – Dry/Very Dry)

The face was is creamy and not heavy in the least.  It does work a little weird in the face that it is more of a balm and does not produce suds.  It does get my face completely clean. The toner doesn’t sting or have a weird smell.  I use it to re-balance my skin after washing it.  It gets all the dirt particles off of my skin.  I use a makeup remover pad for it.  The moisturizer is thick and creamy, everything you would want in a day cream.  It does have SPF in it so it does have a faint smell of sunscreen but nothing that you can’t handle.  This routine helps my face to look fresh and vibrant in the morning.

Night Without Makeup

  1. Wash Face (Boots No.7 Cleanser – Dry/Very Dry)
  2. Toner (Boots No. 7 Toner – Dry/Very Dry)
  3. Eye Cream (E.L.F)
  4. Serum (E.L.F)
  5. Moisturizer (Boots No.7 Night Cream – Dry/Very Dry)

The face was is creamy and not heavy in the least.  It does work a little weird in the face that it is more of a balm and does not produce suds.  It does get my face completely clean. I have started switching between this one and the E.L.F Daily Cleanser (not pictured).  The E.L.F one has a soothing spa scent and feel to it.  It leaves my face feeling cool and refreshed.  The eye serum is perfect.  It is super light weight and smells like cucumbers.  It feels calming on the skin.  For the price it isn’t too bad.  The night serum is lightweight and feels like a feather on my face.  It is not sticky or heavy and it doesn’t even feel like there is anything on your face.  You do have to wait for it to completely dry before applying your moisturizer.  The moisturizer is luxurious to me (for the price) and feels weightless.  I wake up the next morning and my face looks revitalized.

Night With Makeup

  1. Makeup Remover (Bioderma Sensibio)
  2. Wash Face (Boots No.7 Cleanser – Dry/Very Dry)
  3. Toner (Boots No. 7 Toner – Dry/Very Dry)
  4. Eye Cream (E.L.F)
  5. Serum (E.L.F)
  6. Moisturizer (Boots No.7 Night Cream – Dry/Very Dry)

The only difference between makeup and no makeup nights is Bioderma.  I was originally introduced to this by Kathleenlights but ended up buying it in Paris when I was there this Christmas, anyway, it feels exactly like water.  It is the BEST makeup remover I have ever used.  It doesn’t burn, it doesn’t sting, it is literally like using bottled water on your face.  I put some on a makeup pad and gently wipe down my entire face.  It is perfect.

  1. Exfoliate (E.L.F Scrubbing Cleanser or Lush Ocean Salt)

This exfoliatant is amazing. It is not harsh on my sensitive skin.  The salt dissolves as you scrub so it gets less and less harsh as you go.  It takes away everything and makes your skin look revitalized and new.

  1. Face Mask (Lush Mask of Magnaminty – Self Preserving)

This mask smells a little funky and feels funky but not a in a way that you couldn’t handle it.  I like it because it makes my skin look brighter and renewed.  It is thick and needs to be applied with a brush for it to work well.

I have tried a variety of things for my skin and MOST of them have broke me out.  My skin is the true definition of a high maintenance chick.  Boots No.7 products and E.L.F so far are the only ones my picky skin likes.  I LOVED the Babor Skinovage Ultra Hydrating Moisturizer but it was EXPENSIVE and they discontinued it, like everything else I like.  I have super dry skin and it freaks out easily.  Here is the list of stuff I have tried and my skin sought revenge on me for:

  • Pond’s – Nope
  • Yes To. . . – Nope
  • Boots Botanicals – Eh. . .
  • Cerva – Yes, but no for the smell
  • Bert’s Bees Intense Hydration – Hell No (break out central)
  • Simple – HELL NO! It smell like crap and I had so many pimples it was like I was 16.

I have even used expensive moisturizers and my skin retaliated (Glam Glow).  So it doesn’t matter how much it costs, as long as it work for you.  If you do not have a skin care routine, I HIGHLY recommend, suggest, urge, beg, plead that you start one.  The sooner you start the sooner you will see results.
