Hey y’all! It’s “Make Up Monday” and I thought we’d discuss tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea Water foundation. Because I fell in LOVE.
Foundation is difficult for me. I have super dry skin and if I use something with too much talc in it, I break out like crazy. Most of the foundations that don’t have a lot of talc in them are SUPER thick. It’s like putting clay on my face and then I get “cake face,” which is not attractive either.
So it is a balance to find a foundation that has enough coverage but doesn’t look cakey. I had enough points at Sephora to get the Tarte Sampler and was able to try out several products from the line and I am in love. Thankfully, a sample pack of the foundation was inside and I used the light sand color. It was perfect. This foundation gave me a weightless cover and didn’t make me break out. I absolutely loved it and jumped at the chance to buy a full size bottle. The full size bottle has a dropper as the way to get the product out of the bottle. This is probably my only complaint. I feel it is a little messy and I am super meticulous when it comes to wanting my makeup bottles and products to stay clean. So, it drives me up the wall a little. Lol.
It dries down to a powdery finish that is absolutely beautiful. I bought the foundation and the tarte Rainforest of the Sea Double Ended Foundation brush. The brush is dense and springy, it’s everything you would want in a foundation brush. The best part in the other side is smaller to get into the tight corners of your face or you could use it as a concealer brush. Using this combo, foundation and brush, it applies beautifully to the skin. A lot of people use a Beauty Blender to apply this product but at times, I feel like the Beauty Blender absorbs too much of my product but it is ultimately a matter of preference. I am super stoked to continue using this product. I have been falling in love with other brands and branching out.
The Rainforest of the Sea collection has a bunch of great products within it. The moisturizer is awesome and so are lipsticks. I tried tarte Rainforest of the Sea Drench Lip Splash Lipstick in “Beach Bum” and it is described as a dark nude. It is a gorgeous, creamy color. It truly does moisturize your lips and keeps them hydrated throughout the day. You can purchase it here. They have a vast selection of colors and I wish I could buy all of them. The packaging is adorable as well. It looks like a sunset on the outside.
If any of y’all have the same issues with foundations and have recommendations, please let a girl know! =o)
