San Francisco Salt Compamy

So, y’all know I love working out and love the pain (muscle soreness) that comes from working out just as much. But like everyone else I don’t want that soreness to inhibit my ability to function. Thankfully, I’ve found a solution that works for me. Baths and salt. (No, not bath salts in the horribly scary drugs.)

Let me introduce you to an amazing company. San Fransico Salt Company.

I happened to pick this up on a whim at Massage Envy. It was sitting on the self and I thought it was interesting. Let’s be honest, I had worked out hard that week, just got a massage and was STILL sore. I needed something to help me loosen my tight muscles. So, I figured why not. This has been one of my BEST impluse buys EVER!

Company

First, a little background on the company. I’m starting to look more and more into who the company is and what they stand for when it comes to products now. I want to give my money to the right business.

According to their website they offer salts for both the outside of the body as well as the inside. Meaning they make stuff for the spa and stuff for you to be able to cook with. They say their goal is “to raise your awareness of the amazing benefits of natural sea salts – to harness the power of the ocean to enhance your well-being, from the inside out.”

They go on to focus what they offer. Which is”an extensive line of bath and shower salts to soothe, cure, and promote relaxation, as well as a line of gourmet chef salts to guarantee just the right flavors for your dishes.”

The website also say that they design, develop and package all of their products in their own facilities in the US. I love the fact that they are a completely US based company, they’re some of my favorite companies to buy from because I know the money is coming right back home.

Product

So like I said I bought the Shower Shaker Gift Set. This package comes with three different salts and can be used in a variety of ways, according to the package. Currently they are on sale on their website for $29.99 and that normal price is &44.99. I paid $35 for mine. Part of me felt even more inclined to buy it because it was the last one. You know, the feeling of “only I have it!” You get three 16 ounce salt shakers that are fine/medium grain salt. (Who knew salt came in grain size?!)

Packaging

The box itself is aesthetically pleasing. It is comprised of calming colors and colors that instantly make you thing of a spa day. The individual canisters are all wrapped in the same sticker with the product type changing on the left hand side in a little circle with the name underneath. The metallic mermaid is beautiful and makes me think of a lazy day on the boat.

Uses

So the box says the uses are:

Bath – Sprinkle a small amount into a warm bath. Relax & soak

Spa – Mix with body oil/shower gel for the ultimate spa scrub

Shower – Shake onto wet skin and message gently to exfoliate

Feet – Shake into a warm foot spa for a soothing foot soak

I have only used it in the bath but I really want to get some oils and make the spa scrub to really amp up the power of the different salts. Using it as an exfoliater sounds amazing as well. I have typically dry skin, gotta love living in a humid climate, so I need to constantly scrub the dry skin off.

Individual Salts

Muscle Soak

The muscle soak says its ingredients are

  • Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt)
  • Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus)
  • Essential Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint)
  • Essential Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
  • Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice.

You can DEFINITELY smell the peppermint and eucalyptus in the bath when you soak in it. It smells just like the steam room at the gym. I love it. It is salt colored, you know, white. Lol. The box says that this salt “Promotes muscle recovery, eases muscle aches & pains and deeply cleanses your skin, removing massage oil residue.” I have only used it as a soak and I can without a doubt say that it does alleviate muscle soreness. If you follow me on SnapChat, I talked about how I killed legs yesterday and today and that I was sore. After soaking dor about 20 minutes the soreness is without a doubt reduced. It’s definitely not gone but I ain’t waddling right now. Lol.

Sleep Lavender

Sleep Lavender ingredients are

  • Pacific Sea Salt
  • Lavandin Hybrida Grosso (Lavender) Essential Oil
  • Glycerin (Vegetable Glycerin)
  • Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
  • Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice
  • FD&C Red 33 Lake.

The lavender oil is not SUPER strong to me. I know a lot of products that use that scent can kind of go overboard and almost suffocate you with the scent but not this one. It leaves a light smell on the skin that is pleasant. Simply soaking in this smooths your skin. According to the box, this salt “is an aromatic, therapeutic bath soak that calms and relaxes your mind and body, promoting a good night’s sleep. Also soothes muscle aches and pains.” I did feel more relaxed and a little sleepy. I love using lavender to help me sleep. I am sometimes a restless sleeper with a racing mind. Soaking in this salt calms my nerves and let’s my brain know it’s time to chill out.

California Breeze

California Breeze’s ingredients are

  • Pacific Sea Salt
  • Fragrance, Glycerin (Vegetable Glycerin)
  • Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
  • Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice
  • FD&C Blue 1 Lake.

I have yet to use this one but I’m excited. If this one is half as good as the other ones, I’m game! Lol. The box says that its main benefits are “Relaxation. Also, brings the benefits of swimming in the ocean to your bath or shower by rejuvenating, nourishing, and cleansing your skin.” Swimming in the ocean in my shower? Count me in.

The shelf life of these particular salts are 6-12 months if you keep them in the sealed container.

I enjoy these so much I am going to order more of them. I can’t wait to try them. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be trying the food aspects of the company simply because I don’t cook with salt. I know, I know, I’m crazy not to but it’s simply a personal preference.

I highly recommend you check out their website, San Fransisco Salt Company. Let me know what you think! Have a wonderful weekend y’all!

– ❤️ Lindsey
