Hey y’all! I know, I know, I start off every post the same but that’s me. Lol. Anyway, today’s post is completely devoted to theBalm. A few weeks ago they updated their website and had a 50% off everything flash sale. You know I jumped on that with the quickness. Lol. Trust me, I wanted to buy a lot more than I did but I had to restrain myself. Lol
This amazing look was created from using theBalm Meet Matt(e) Trimony eyeshadow palette, Mr. Write (Now) eyeliner, Mad Lash mascara, Balm Desert bronzer, Hot Mama blush and Meet Matt(e) Hughes liquid lipstick.
Next, I concealed with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer in Light.
I got this ADORABLE travel size at Ulta in the little towers by the registers. This is perfect to try out other colors and it’s great for traveling. This is my go to concealer but I wanted to try a different shade. This size is $12.
I set my makeup with the Flower Cosmetics Translucent Powder.
This stuff is ok. For it only being $9.99 it works how it should but the smell and chalky feeling bothers me. It is not as milled as the Laura Mercier setting powder. I’m going to try out the RCMA powder next week. There will be a bonus post on the Flower powder tomorrow.
After settling my concealer, it was on to the eye shadow.
Using the Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette I started with Matt Thomas all over my lid, then on a fluffy blending brush I took Matt Lopez in my crease for transition. On the outer part of my crease I used Matt Rossi and finally I used Matt Kamar on the outer v. These blended well and are super pigmented. Underneath my eye I did the same steps except on a pencil brush. On the inner corner I used Matt Lin to highlight. The palette is $42 but I got it for $21 because of the flash sale.
I got this in one of my ipsy bags when I was still subscribed to it. They retail for $17. I do not like these as all. They are not creamy and flake off like crazy on the waterline. Definitely would not buy again.
Then it was on to the eyelashes. I tried out the Mad Lash mascara.
It is super creamy and definitely black. It has a curled wand to help curl your lashes. It retails for $18 but I got it for $9. It’s ok. I don’t like that my eyelashes on the outer part of my eye stick to the bottom. I really enjoy big separated lashes and this kinda makes your eyelashes clumpy.
I should have probably mentioned that I put some eyebrows on using the ColourPop Brow Pencil in Dope Taupe. I have a full review on them found here.
Moving on to my face I used the Make Up Forever Multi Use Powder Foundation in shade 120. I love this stuff. It is my go to foundation for the humidity that permeates Florida.
One of the hard parts of shopping online is not being able to test the products. I just took a gamble and chose this bronzer. It was the perfect shade. It’s a neutral tone. It retails for $21 but I paid $10.50. I really like this bronzer. It’s blendable, buildable and finely milled.
It retails for $20 but I paid $10. I have also used this for eyeshadow and it’s beautiful. It creamy, blendable and finely milled. I really like it for both a blush and shadow.
I decided not to purchase any of their highlighters. Don’t get me wrong, I love highlighter but I couldn’t decided between Cindy Lou or Mary Lou. Plus I wanted to save a little money. Lol. So I used Urban Decay Sin.
To finish the look, I used Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick in Adoring.
It retails for $18 but I paid $9. It is a super comfortable formula and doesn’t flake off. It dries down really well and transfers very little. I absolutely love this formula. I wish I had bought more than one shade. There is no feathering with this lipstick either.
Completed look! I loved it but truth be told, I only did this for the blog and took it off about 10 minutes after I had finished it. Lol.
Well, I hope y’all enjoyed my makeup run down! Have an amazing weekend and we’ll talk Monday!
